How to roll coloured icing

I have just mixed some red food colouring with red to roll icing and have now left it in a bag, only problem am worried when I come to use it that it will still be sticky and is going to be a nightmare to roll without it sticking to everything!!

Thought about dusting with icing sugar but surely that'll ruin the colour?

Ideas please!

Made cake involving red icing once.
You guessed correctly, just sprinkle icing sugar on the surface and rub a little on the rolling pin. Doesn't affect the colour but you'll need to get rid of the dust with a slightly damp fine brush.
