snacks after nursery

I was wondering whether anyone could tell me what they feed their chidren (aged 8months) after nursery. DS eats very well and has dinner at the nursery around 3.30pm; when we get home it is about 6.30 so I've started giving him a yopghurt to keep him going until his bottle just before going to bed. I'm worried I'm plying him with too much food but if I cut back on his intake he wakes up at 5am
what do you people out there do when you get home?
thanks

I'd actually give him a bowl of cereal or something substantial. 3.30 is what I think of as a late lunch!

Gawd, DS1 has a proper dinner with us! Tea at his nursery can be anything - sometimes it is just cheese and biscuits or crumpets.

Thanks for your replies!

Nursery serves them proper dinners: chicken fricasse, roast, pasta plus a pudding of some sort, yoghurt or fruit or something like that.

Do you think I'll run the risk of over feeding him?

Also, i'm worried that if I feed him too much solids around 6.30 he won't take his bedtime milk.

what do you guys think?

I would give him another meal TBH. My DD only really started sleeping properly through the night when I started giving her supper as well. Doesnt have to be a huge meal but 3.30 until bed time seems a long time.

What else does he have at nursery other than the dinner? I used to give mine soup or a sandwich or scrambled egg, then fruit and yoghurt if they wanted any more. As they got older, I'd make extra of whatever we were eating the night before then heat it up. 3:30 til morning is too long to go without food IMO

He has 9oz of milk and then 2tbsp of baby porridge or 1/2 a weetabix with whole milk. This is about 6/6.30 am. then he goes to the nursery and around 10.30 he gets another bottle (he'll drink about 6-7oz). At 11.30 he has his lunch (proper dinner plus yoghurt or fruit) then at 2pm another 6-7oz of milk. then at 3.30 he has another proper diner plus yoghurt/fruit/fromage frais or something alike.
We pick him up from the nursery around 5.30-6pm and then DS just falls asleep in the car. we get home around 6-6.30 and that is when I started giving him a petit filous and some rice cakes. then after the bath (around 7-7.30) he gets 9oz of milk.
I'm going to try and give him some organix rusks with milk tonight.
DS is the kind of baby that eats whatever we put in front of him. He is not fat he is 20lb and is 8m old but i worry that I'll feed him too much food and will give him horrible eating habits that will haunt him for life.
what do you guys think?
