Cooking toad in the hole

Am making a toad in the hole and have a rectangle shaped pyrex dish.

Is it ok to cook in a pyrex dish if I grease it well or will the batter stick?

I cook it in Pyrex but I don't grease it first, I put some oil in it while it's heating up so it's hot ready for the sausages to go in.

Yep the batter has to go into shimmering hot oil!

Thanks for that, have'nt made toad in the hole for ages.

So will I need to cook the sausages a bit before I add the batter mix?

yes, you need to cook the sausages till they are brown.

And you will make sure you use plain flour, won't you?

good luck

no

plain flour, eggs, milk and a splash of water.

whisk, whisk, whisk until super fluffy, then whisk some more.

Meanwhile, put some oil in your dish and put in really hot oven, when oil is smoking, add a bit of batter mix, then the sausages, then the rest of the batter mix.

et voila!
