This is a slight variation on an Ainsley Harriot dish, I did it for friends and they were really impressed.

Harissa Lamb kebabs:
4 lamb steaks (not chops)
4tsp harissa paste
2 tsp mint sauce
splash of lemon juice
salt and pepper
Houmous and/or Tsatsiki
Salad leaves
Pitta breads.

Cut the lamb into cubes and marinade in the harissa paste, mint sauce, lemon juice and seasoning for at least an hour.
Thread onto skewers (or don't bother, just sling the cubes in the pan).
Cook on a chargrill until nice and brown on the outside but still pink on the inside (10 mins max).
Toast pittas. Serve in the pittas with salad and generous dollops of your preferred dip. Yum!

Harissa paste is a kind of chilli paste but it has some root veg in it too so it has quite a specific flavour - hot but vegetably too. You get it in a little jar, Barts make it and you normally find it with the herbs and spices at a supermarket.

you know, I fantasise about Ginsters.

How i woudl LOVE to tear the celophane off one of those beauties and devour it in 8 bites while driving round the North Circular ..... Mmmmmm Ham and cheese

can't get them even at the British Emporiums over here

seriously though

pizzas are very easy

buy a pack of breadmaker dough, knead it with extra olive oil and leave it to prove and then knock back and roll out very thinly and top it with a mix of passata and heinz ketchup and then you could invite your guests to choose their own toppings, put in a very hot oven for 10 mins and you're done. Serve with a salad and garlic bread and haagen daas or the like for afters and bob's your aunty's live in lover.
