i have a poncey terracotta one.
looks great, works like shit.
or maybe im doing something wrong?

i suspect the less attractive cheapy plastic ones may work better. anyone got one and can confirm?

thx.

btw - i have this not because i beleive in superfoods or any of that jazz, i just happen to like the taste of sprouts in my salads. ta.

I have a cheapy plastic one. Works just fine.

I sprout seeds in a large jar, with the opening covered by cling film with perforations in it, so the seeds can be rinsed through every day.

Works just as well

Or, on a damp teatowel spread on a baking tray..

bugger. i knew it.

dang my poncey pretensions

(so the seeds dont rapidly dry out and stick to the plastic, and go moldy, despite being watered at least twice a day?)

note to anyone wondering: the terracotta ones are rubbish. get the plastic.

moony, talk me through this jar technique... is the jar fulkl of water and seeds? or are the seeds just wet?

Just fill jar with water then drain.
You can put a loosely woven cloth (dishcloth) over the mouth as clingfilm might be flimsy.

Must make sure seeds drained properly as they will rot if sitting in water.Aim for damp, not swimming.

righto.
will give it a whirl.
