WHERE DID I GO WRONG ??? i can't even make chocolate rice crispy cakes !

Hi ladies

I would really love someone to tell me why when i was melting my chocolate it all started to curdle. I was trying to make a very simple chocolate rice crispy cakes and i can't even do that !!!

Please can i have some recipies from you all as i feel like a total failer not even being able to make the most basic of things with my 3yr old DD !!

Simple baking for beginners. Other seasoned bakers will hopefully add to it.

dont do what i did, and put them in the oven to cook

Melt choc in double pan - not direct over the heat unless you have a very thick based saucepan.

I had this the other day, some water splashed into the bowl and the chocolate went all thick and lumpy. Still tasted nice though!

Well i was melting the chocolate in a bowl over a pan of boiling water with butter and golden syrup like the recipe said and one minute it was fine and then disaster !!!

I have gone from being pretty good cook to not even being able to boil a kettle. Everything I do at the moment is a complete disaster, not sure where I am going wrong.

Princessosyth are you pregnant because im 30 weeks tomorrow and that whats happened to me can't do a bloody think right at the mo its so frustrating !!!! xx

I haven't got that excuse unfortunately but it did start going downhill once I became a mum.

Can i also ask is there any was to salvage the curdled choc or dose it have to go in the bin ??
