Either King Edwards or Maris Piper.
Do not be tricked into buying any other kind just because they claim to be good all rounders on the packet.

SenoraPostrophe · 20/12/2004 21:09

I vote King Edwards too...

cab · 20/12/2004 21:09

Oh I might be wrong with the desrie then....

Gobbledigoose · 20/12/2004 21:14

Maris Piper for me.

JanH · 20/12/2004 21:25

estima - they are generally what you get in Sainsburys value packs and they are really good all-rounders.

Cinderellascarrieg · 20/12/2004 21:41

King Edwards are good if you par-boil them then bash them round the pan to get them all floury before they go in the hot fat...but I've done baby new potatoes quite successfully in their skins too!

Tinker · 20/12/2004 21:42

Maris Piper

Flumberrysauce · 20/12/2004 21:43

King edwards

mullgedwine · 20/12/2004 21:45

King Edwards, then maris piper. Desire( esp red ones) are fab for mash, but not great for roasting imho!

Tinker · 20/12/2004 21:46

Chip shops always buy either Maris Piper or King Edwards so both are good for cooking in hot fat.

OldieMum · 20/12/2004 21:53

I always use Desiree. .

woodpops · 21/12/2004 09:38

It's got to be Maris Piper everytime.
