posieflump · 08/03/2008 13:53

mix it with pineapple and have it in sandwiches or on jacket potatoes

DiscoDizzy · 08/03/2008 13:54

why do you have it if you don't like it.

I eat it with ryvita type stuff. Nice, but i like it with chives.

VintageGardenia · 08/03/2008 13:55

Put it on water biscuit with a split cherry tomato on top and if you feel like a feast, a grind of black pepper. On Sundays you can add a basil leaf.

posieflump · 08/03/2008 13:55

it's nice on a digestive biscuit too

VintageGardenia · 08/03/2008 13:55

Or squidge it up with a smoked mackerel fillet with a fork or handblender, a squirt of lemon and voila! you have fake smoked mack pate.

StealthPolarBear · 08/03/2008 13:58

bin it

ScienceTeacher · 08/03/2008 14:00

I love it on toast or in baked potatoes.

Blandmum · 08/03/2008 14:03

Treat it Canesten.

It always reminds me of Thrush!

fatzak · 08/03/2008 14:06

Great minds Martianbishop!! That was my first reaction. Always reminds me of when my teenage boyfriend was told in biology/sex ed about thrush and the teacher compared it cottage cheese Do you tell your pupils that too

Aitch · 08/03/2008 14:12

i promise that if you use it in cannelloni in place of ricotta cheese (cotta, cottage, there is presumably some relationship historically) it is tasty. nutmeg, salt, wilted and squuezed spinach, squish into canelloni and top with some plain tom and onion sauce and some cheese, lovely.

PrincessPeaHead · 08/03/2008 14:14

stick it in a hot pita pocket with sliced tomatoes and/or cucumber, yum

DiscoDizzy · 08/03/2008 16:55

Aitch, if that recipe for cannelloni is quick and easy to type, do you think you could perhaps pop it on here or email it to me. It would be appreciated. If you haven't got the time don't worry.

catinthehat · 08/03/2008 17:00

Stealth PB has the correct answer.
Go to the fridge.
Bin it.
Bin it now.
It is the only way.

TrinityRhino · 08/03/2008 17:03

take it out of fridge

and

throw it in the bin

it is RANK

elfsmum · 08/03/2008 17:03

mix it with egg and use it as a topping on a pasta bake

pointydog · 08/03/2008 17:04

You can make delicious cheese pastries with it.

Filo pastry
feta cheese cut up small
cottage cheese
chopped mint
egg to bind
season

those little triangular greek tiropittes. I love them

BecauseImWorthIt · 08/03/2008 17:04

I think I must be a bit weird because I love cottage cheese!

Lashings of freshly grated black pepper do it for me.

pointydog · 08/03/2008 17:04

I like c cheese with crackers and on a baked potato.

catinthehat · 08/03/2008 17:11
Blandmum · 08/03/2008 17:12

But it doesn't taste of anything! And it looks disturbingly like rampant thrush

BecauseImWorthIt · 08/03/2008 17:34

Full fat cottage cheese is lush - and black pepper gives it a lovely spicy/hot edge.

Can eat it by the spoonful straight out of the tub.

Ledodgy · 08/03/2008 17:36

You should have got the cottage cheese and chives it's fab. Cottage cheese is nice with branston on a sarnie.

catinthehat · 08/03/2008 17:37
talkingmongoose · 08/03/2008 17:37

in a baked potato with sweetcorn, fab.

Lilymaid · 08/03/2008 17:38

Sorry, as OP said all you can do is gag and feel virtuous. It looks repulsive, feels repulsive in the mouth and tastes repulsive.
