how to make perfect popcorn

How do I make popcorn like the sweet one you get in the cinema.....
I made some last night in a saucepan and put on some butter but it wasn't the same..
Any ideas

do you not have to caramalise the butter with sugar first before adding the popcorn

I cheat and buy a big bag of butterkist

yes but wouldn't go to high as it all happens very quickly when it eventually does, just keep stirring!!
