How the hell do I get a moist cake!!

It doesnt matter what cake I make it is always hard on the edge and bottom, any suggestions for a nice moist cake?

Are you overcooking it? Do you have a fan oven - if so, you need to turn it down 20 degrees or cook it for less time.

I dont think i am but i get worried if i dont cook it long enough it wont be cooked in the middle?

oh ok i will try turning the temp down, i do tend to really grease the sides up so t doesnt stick maybe thats where im going wrong

dunk it in a bucket of water once its out of f the oven, that'd do the trick

try putting a bowl of water in the bottom of the oven.

Another egg, slightly less sugar, and lower heat, and don't cook so long

Check if the middle is cooed with a knife - it should be clean when you withdraw it.
