ds i messing more and more with breakfast and tea. the only decent meal he eats is lunch at the moment. he has 3 bottles, 5-6oz am, 5 oz afternoon and 6oz bedtime, plus yoghurt at all meals. should i cut his milk back further to get him to eat more solids at breakfast and teatime?

No, i definitely wouldnt cut back his milk.Try spacing his bottles out between meals. For example, leave it 2/3 hours AFTER his bottle before giving him food. breakfast doesnt have to be 8am sharp, if he has his bottle at 7/8 give him breakfast at 10/11. Try that for a while.(unless you already do)
Good luck. HTH.

thanks donbean, at the moment his am bottle is about 6am!, and still will only eat perhaps a bit of yoghurt 2 hrs later; and thats with some persuasion!!
