Rice Crispie Cakes

I can't be ar$ed to search the archives, what's the recipe for the crispie cakes you make with cocoa/butter/syrup rather than chocolate?

dunno that one, soupy, but have you done it with melted mars bars? sounds like you'd get a similar squidgy effect.

Melt the butter and syrup in a pan on a low heat, stir in cocoa and cook a bit more. Add rice crispies.

I only have plain choc and that makes them too rich. Too rich for children that is, not too rich for me but that's not a good thing.

I tend to weigh very little and just throw it all in tbh!

what about this maybe the oats would work?

couldn't quite believe i'd found myself on a country living thread, tbh, but they seem like a nice bunch.

I particularly liked the way it was urgent that the poster got a recipe for crispie cakes.

I just thought it would be a Nice Thing To Do with BabyDragon this afternoon (although I may be deluding myself). I feel slightly downcast that it's not an urgent crispie cake request.

Ok. Here is the recipe. 50g margarine, 2 tbsp drinking chocolate, 1 rounded tbsp golden syrup, 65g cornflakes. Be warned, mine loathed it and prefer the cheapy ones from Tescos. Think these taste too grown up. xx

lol i thought they seemed like a nice bunch until i saw the stark warning about teh butter proportions! omg, and we think it's bad here. worrabitch.
