What should I cook for jet lagged dh?

Am feeling all inspired by Masterchef. dh arriving home saturday night and I know he won't appreciate fine dining after travelling back from california. But I want to make something nice that will be comforting, tasty and look all masterchefy.
Ideas please?

Mine always likes toad in the hole or fish and chips when getting back from a trip - but then he likes that anytime! Comforting, tasty but doesn't look masterchefy. Sometimes he is just relieved I haven't totally lost it while he is away and cooks for me!

mine always wants pie - either steak and chips then apple pie, or chicken pie and mash then apple crumble

boring but at least I can do it

scrambled eggs!
not exactl master chef though.

Came back to thread expecting all kinds of exotic things and get pie, scrambled eggs and toad in the hole!! At least I can manage that sort of cooking
