Is there something wrong with this?

I'm a long time reader of this site and signed up to prove a point to my husband.

I made a nice meal of chicken, rice and crisps but my husband thinks it's weird.

It's no different to adding potatoes, crisps are just a different form. Am I wrong here???

If posters are 100% sure there's no underlying bias then I would re-read the first page of comments and ask if you think people would have posted that strongly about eg. lasagne and chips, or aloo sag on the side of rice.

Lasagna and chips? What parallel universe have I just caught a glimpse of?

A universe where some people eat different things than you.

That’s what I as thinking of when I posted about the Indian dish called Aloo Chat that the sprinkle with Bombay Spice mix which isn’t far of these potato sticks.

Lasagne and chips are very nice and no different really to garlic bread as a side. Served with a delicious salad it’s even more delicious. I love the mix of the hot food and the cold.

One without garlic bread to mop up the lasagne and chips? 😂

Chill, sometimes people eat double carbs. Unless you're trying to be a stereo typical mn-er, in that case, fill your boots.

For those saying potato and rice don’t go together… it’s a very common combination in Indian/Pakistani/Bangladeshi cooking. Honestly it doesn’t feel like carb overload 😄

Biryani - rice, meat/chicken, potatoes optional but delicious in my opinion!
Lots of vegetable dishes, like spinach and potato, aubergine and potato, mixed vegetables and potato etc served with rice or roti.

Probably because in South East Asian culture, potatoes are not considered a carbohydrate but a vegetable. The common carbohydrates you have with your meal is roti (from wheat flour) or rice, or a variation of roti like dosa.
You’d never have the potatoes as the accompanying carb. It does make me laugh when posters start with the “but why would you have two types of carbs!”
Different cultures, different cuisines, innit!

They most certainly do.

it’s common where I live too. We have both but we eat less of each thing and it all works out as a portion of carbs. Sometimes I’ll eat more of the potato and just a couple of spoonfuls of rice. Other times it’s the other way around. It’s delicious.
