What do you eat for breakfast?

DP it's this fiber cereal that's plain and I don't like for breakfast. Usually I'm too busy in the morning that I end up going to work without eating breakfast myself and just have an early lunch mid-morning. Sometimes I end up eating my lunch as soon as I sit down at my desk.

If I do do breakfast it usually ends up being a banana smoothie that I make(x2 bananas, some milk and peanut butter) as long as the smoothie maker's been washed the night before.

So I'm wondering what do you all eat for breakfast?

Any recommendations on quick but filling things to eat before work?

Full fat Greek yogurt if I'm hungry. Often not.

lashy · 28/06/2023 22:50

1x slice wholemeal toast with marmite and a cup of tea.
Occasionally swap the toast for a crumpet, same topping.

Smashed avocado on a bagel
Vegan sausage in a bap
Seeded bread with butter
Oats porridge with grated apple and 1 tsp peanut butter

HighEndGrifters · 28/06/2023 23:56

Yeo Valley natural yoghurt, (I donate the tokens… <<polishes halo>>👼😂

Right, back to sensible, YVNY with large handful of raspberries, with flax seeds and sunflower seeds, generally keeps everything moving so to speak.

Though I find too many roasted pumpkin seeds these do the opposite. Must google.

I then don’t eat until the evening.

I do however have wine. 😃

These days even…..

cyncope · 28/06/2023 23:59

Either just a coffee, or greek yoghurt with berries & peanut butter.

Toast and eggs
Smashed avocado and cherry tomatoes on sourdough
Full English
Fried cheese sandwich, yum!😁

Also lost about half a stone recently by skipping breakfast, it really works!

Not particularly quick but as quick as making your smoothie (though may take longer to eat).
One duck egg, fried (no oil) in stick proof pan.
50gr smoked salmon with squeeze of lemon juice
Six pomodoro tomatoes (I find them the tastiest).
Cup of tea.
On weekends i add one slice of buttered seeded bread.
The protein keeps me full til lunch

bonfirebash · 29/06/2023 01:08

I usually skip it but if I'm hungry then a smoothie
Strawberries, raspberries, milk, Greek yoghurt, protein powder (using maple syrup flavour at the minute)
I got a load of fruit in a too good to go bag so it's using it up!

bonfirebash · 29/06/2023 01:09

Oh my other fave one which isn't as good for me
Porridge made in the microwave, then I leave it to cool while I do other stuff. Add peanut butter and a chopped banana

EllaRaines · 29/06/2023 07:32

I make vegetarian ones using vegan bacon.

peskypanda · 30/06/2023 04:47

Two boiled eggs if i need something super quick. Or if I'm organised I'll make a big zucchini slice (eggs, grated zucchini, loads of vege and bit of cheese) and cut it up and freeze it in portions to grab and go each morning

RiseYpres · 30/06/2023 06:10

I usually make something like scrambled eggs and toast. Usually the eggs cook slightly more quickly than the toast so it is fairly quick for me.

Cincinnatus · 30/06/2023 06:19

It’s rather boring but porridge. I really love it though.

peachicecream · 30/06/2023 06:31

Cereal and smoothies are two of the worst things you can have for breakfast.

A low/ no sugar breakfast is best because it's not going to spike your blood sugar and give you a crash later in the morning.

Your body wants protein and fats rather than sugar at breakfast.

LubaLuca · 30/06/2023 06:39

I don't often eat breakfast, but I sometimes take to work frozen pineapple and raspberries with Greek yoghurt. By midmorning it's defrosted.

whatchagonnado · 30/06/2023 06:41

Yoghurt, fruit and granola and two big mugs of tea

kezziecakes · 30/06/2023 07:13

Coffee and a big bowl of porridge every day except Sunday when we make pancakes or waffles.

IHeartGeneHunt · 30/06/2023 07:14

Beans and homemade granary bread or porridge and nuts. Sometimes boiled egg and beans.

Veryverycalmnow · 30/06/2023 07:19

I was having about 4 slices of toast, sometimes with eggs, not long ago. I'm now on yoghurt and fruit for breakfast(2 months in) and feeling good.

bluechameleon · 30/06/2023 07:25

I usually have either porridge with different toppings (Tinned pineapple and dessicated coconut is my current favourite) or greek yoghurt with fruit and nuts/seeds. Today we had Bananas that needed finishing so I made banana smoothies for me and the DC and I had a slice of toast as well (half butter, half marmite and cream cheese).

Craftsandgardens · 30/06/2023 08:16

Bacon, egg and tomato.
Mushrooms on toast
Scrambled eggs with smoked salmon on toast.
Scrambled eggs with cheese
Cheese and mushroom omelette
Bacon sandwich if in a hurry
Occasionally croissants for DH.

WeirdPookah · 30/06/2023 12:31

Black bean burrito with thin cheese slice, pureed pepper or salsa.

greenacrylicpaint · 28/06/2023 17:24

overnight oats
just steel cut oats, chia seeds, linseed, dried fruit, pinch of cinnamon or ginger and water.

Started adding a pinch of turmeric to mine, as well.

Theoldwoman · 30/06/2023 12:46

Either:

Porridge with raisins and raspberries
Weetbix with honey and banana
Poached eggs on toast
