What do you eat for breakfast?

DP it's this fiber cereal that's plain and I don't like for breakfast. Usually I'm too busy in the morning that I end up going to work without eating breakfast myself and just have an early lunch mid-morning. Sometimes I end up eating my lunch as soon as I sit down at my desk.

If I do do breakfast it usually ends up being a banana smoothie that I make(x2 bananas, some milk and peanut butter) as long as the smoothie maker's been washed the night before.

So I'm wondering what do you all eat for breakfast?

Any recommendations on quick but filling things to eat before work?

Greek yogurt with a spoon of linseed, chia seeds and a handful of chopped nuts.

minipie · 28/06/2023 08:36

Nothing. It started as a way to get 10 more minutes’ sleep (I’m not a morning person) and now I can call it intermittent fasting 😁

If I do have breakfast it’s most likely to be yoghurt and fruit.

MrsPelligrinoPetrichor · 28/06/2023 08:38

Overnight oats, boiled eggs, fruit and yoghurt, weetabix and a banana.

CoralBells · 28/06/2023 08:40

I have cereal (weetabix, fruit n fibre, bit of granola) or porridge in the week

ErrolTheDragon · 28/06/2023 09:53

I often don't have any, just 2 mugs of tea and then a coffee with milk some time later. If I do have breakfast it will be Greek yogurt, fruit and a bit of low sugar nutty muesli. On holiday, when we may not want to be tied down to finding lunch, something like that and/or eggs.

Not having breakfast is fine so long as you don't end up grabbing a muffin, biscuits or whatever instead of proper food.

I quite often have udon noodles in miso broth (top with a bit of soy sauce, sesame oil, garlic granules and chilli flakes, sometimes add some tofu) - I use the straight to wok noodles (microwave for 1 min) and miso paste in mug of boiling water from the kettle, stir all of it together and it's ready in like 2 minutes. I tend not to like sweet breakfasts.

Today I'm having a smoothie with oats and random frozen fruit (blueberries, raspberries, mango).

A lot of times, like you, I have lunch #1 and lunch #2 - literally just make a big lunch, usually leftovers from night before, and have half at around 10:30-11am and the other half around 1-2pm.

Put Flahavans porridge oats just barely covered with milk in microwave for 2 mins. Remove, add fresh bilberries, blackberries and strawberries on top, with more milk. Return to microwave for 1 min and 30 secs. Result - quick and easy delicious healthy breakfast.

I can’t be doing with sweet breakfasts! My blood sugar will crash by 12pm and I’ll feel shaky. I usually have something on toast. Philadelphia, Dairylea, garlic roule, sliced cheese, often with a bit of ham or salami. Blue cheese and pear on toast. Ricotta and figs on toast. Occasionally some sort of pate on toast. Or scrambled eggs. Swap the toast for a crumpet or bagel. Lovely 😊

Currently doing 16:8 so I'm skipping breakfast. When I do eat it's normally something like yoghurt & fruit or overnight oats.

DS has cereal very day, DD mixes it up a bit. Sometimes oats or porridge, sometime pita bread & hummus.

HBGKC · 28/06/2023 17:23

Tea & toast! Every day of my life for as long as I can remember. Half a sugar in my strong-ish (Yorkshire) tea, not too much milk. Butter on my (home-made sourdough Halo) toast, sometimes with marmalade or jam too. Food of the Gods.

greenacrylicpaint · 28/06/2023 17:24

overnight oats
just steel cut oats, chia seeds, linseed, dried fruit, pinch of cinnamon or ginger and water.

heartsinvisiblefury · 28/06/2023 17:29

Marmalade on toast and a mug of tea - I love breakfast time!

Watchkeys · 28/06/2023 17:30

Overnight oats, We usually have some berries in the freezer (I buy them when they're fresh, and reduced at the end of the day). I do everything in jam jars, so the oats get their milk and cocoa powder, seeds etc in one jam jar, and the fruit defrosts in another.

I also like a carb free breakfast (cheese and good quality ham), and find that I don't get hungry for ages after that.

Newestname002 · 28/06/2023 17:31

Usually two small slices of wholemeal Irish soda bread, toasted and buttered. A small slice of mature cheddar on one slice only, or scrambled eggs (salt and pepper only, no fat). Plus, if I'm really hungry (on the non-egg days) either a toasted buttered fruit scone or a small snack sized apple and a large strong black coffee with sweetener and a large glass of plain water. 🌹

Hintofreality · 28/06/2023 17:33

Weekdays - coffee, maybe some strawberries with Greek yoghurt.

Weekends - Croissants, fruit, scrambled egg, avocado toast or a bacon buttie if ai’m hungover.

LuciferRising · 28/06/2023 17:39

Generally a smootie with a banana, chia, non whey protein powder, cacao and water.

Or I'll batch cook boiled eggs and eat a few of those and a piece of fruit.

Toast with avocado or marmite or banana and honey if I feel hungry.

Fairislefandango · 28/06/2023 18:29

A banana and maybe a few nuts. I don't have time for anything fancy, and anything sweet makes me starving way before lunch. At the weekend I sometimes have toast.

Beargrumps22 · 28/06/2023 18:57

porridge with cinnamon
greek yoghurt fruit and a little high protein muesli
weetabix or high fibre cereal milk and sweetener

MintJulia · 28/06/2023 19:07

Porridge oats layered with chopped apple then cooked with water in the microwave.

Or wholemeal toast with spread & bramble jelly or marmite.

And normally a satsuma or some grapes.

Tintackedsea · 28/06/2023 19:21

Boiled egg, rye bread soldiers, small piece of rye toast with marmalade, orange juice with Spatone, herbal tea.

Nothing as I fast for as long as I can.

PermanentTemporary · 28/06/2023 22:45

These days, 2 scrambled eggs done properly in a pan with a dash of milk, coffee, piece of fruit. I enjoy spending time on my breakfast. But that would be because my ds is 19 and I am blissfully liberated from family cooking.

PollyThePixie · 28/06/2023 22:46

Two slices of toast with a combination of two of the following - boiled eggs, avocado, hummus, smoked salmon and always served with about 8-10 cherry tomato’s.

And once a week I may have weetabix with a banana or I’ll go out for breakfast instead.

Fandabedodgy · 28/06/2023 22:47

Scrambled eggs and whole meal toast or porridge
