DH sufferes with hiatus hernia and cant eat anything spicy, but when I cook curry he alwaya says how nice it smells. Wondering if I cooked something for him to try what would be the best thing without blowing his brains out.

Thanks

korma I think.

Korma or passanda are mild.

many spices are not 'spicey' just flavoursome. You could try lamb or chicken with tomatoes and yoghurt cooked with cumin, paprika, garlic, tumeric, coriander and a little cinnamon?

Korma is 'mildly' curryish if he wants a 'curry' flavour.

korma or a chicken tikka. If making from scratch just adjust the curry powder/chilli to make it less spicy.

If the 'spicyness' he has problem with is the 'chilli-hotness' then lots of spicy foods shouldn't be a problem, as vixen says. I make vege curry for my daughter with Garam masala powder, which has no chilli in it at all, and she's been yumming that down since she was under 1 I think. I don't know that there's actually a name for that...

Korma is mild, but it does usually have some chilli in it, it's the creamy/yogurtiness which makes it milder. Chucking a load of yogurt in a curry will calm it down a lot.

extra yoghurt or add some mango chutney to 'cool' it down
