right so from nailpolsihs link it seems that I have to find a farmers market and then ask them loads of questions about their cows to work out of they were happy

so does that mean I can't buy happy beef from a normal shop?

you could speak to your butcher , trinity. im sure you dont need to find a farmers market. my butcher promises me the animals are happy and have skipped through lush meadows

i dont know about supermarket meats, even if they say 'organic' - im not 100% sure waht that means exactly

i think its worth it to pay a little bit extra for proper beef/pork/chicken etc. not only is it ethically right, it tastes so much better too

TrinityRhino · 21/02/2008 16:52

can't stand going near the butchers
retching whilst trying to buy things is not a good look and I am not joking
also its not a little bit more from the butchers or farmers market, its alot
the steak mince I buy at the supermarket costs enough

the answer is just to use it less, twice a month instead of twice a week maybe
right now I just need dh to buy it from the bitcher

asdas organic is the cheapest i think

I use frozen steak mince - the kids prefer the texture because it is more mushy

Generally I buy from local butchers although my understanding was that most British cows/pigs/sheep were fairly humanely treated

or yes, buy good stuff but dont have ti often

thats what i do

we ahve read meat or chicken one night, fish 2 nights the rest vegetarian

its works out cheaper
