Hi, I'm having red lentils with sausages tonight and i was wondering how would be best to cook red lentils. May be red lentils mash? Could anyone suggest any recipies, please?

You could make a kind of casserole/cassolet thingy with chopped tomatoes, garlic, onions and the lentils to make a sauce, then plonk the sauce and sausages in an oven dish and bake it all.

Sounds really good but I don't have toms or onion. I have garlic, carrots, red lentils and sausages. I plan to do them with mash as well.

That sounds nice scootergrrl.. I've never made a casserole, do you have to cook it on the hob first and then put it in the oven??

I normally make the sauce on the hob then put it all in the oven. If you use quite a shallow dish you have some crispy sauasages and some soft which is yummy!
Fedda - what about frying off some garlic in oil then adding the lentils to coat them, then chucking in some water or stock til they're soft. Almost like lentil rissoto...

Brilliant! Thanks a lot, Scootergrrrl. That's what I'll do.
