Lamb shanks.......

I am doing a romantic dinner tomorrow night for OH and myself. I have got 2 huge lamb shanks and I am soaking them in red wine and rosemary. Didn't know what to soak them in so put them in a resealable tesco bag and put about 1/2 bot red wine in which they are sitting in, how much red wine should I use? I am soaking them overnight and putting in slow cooker tomorrow morning.

I think 1/2 bottle is just right for 2 shanks, tho I would perhaps add a little bit of stock when you put it them in the slow cooker so you have more liquid for the sauce. Am dribbling thinking about it!

Sounds fine. What are you cooking them with? I tend to brown them of first then pop in slow cooker with carrots, onions, tin of tomatoes, tin of flaagolet beans, a boquet garni and serve with creamed horseradish mash. One of our favourite meals.
