Balsamic Vinegar?

Have you tried one yet?

meridian · 14/02/2008 20:00

yes and they are lovely honest...

alot of recipes call for white vinegar in baking.. its to do with the chemical retion between the acidity of the vinegar and the baking powder.. . i found one that had balsamic.. though i disagreed with the vegtable oil it used and cobbled together my one recipe..

lovely.. honest..ds, dh, and several friends all agree..

just made these with 4.6yr dd - when will I ever learn that less is more when filling a cupcake case and end up with nice cupcakes you can ice instead of jaggy looking muffin things - they are now red velvet muffins if anyone asks!

will let you know how they taste once they cool

dizzydixies-- i do that too though so no worries.. i just give the giant ones to DH and noone complains.

thanks meridian but seriously I can NEVER make one of those cupcakes you see in the books, you know the nice wee flat topped ones with pretty icing and decoration on them!

have a great receipe for cupcakes for kids made with yogurt and marmalade & philly creamcheese topping, will post it at some point as they're really yummy!!

tasted lovely by the way so thanks for receipe

dizzy-your welcome... and there is no fun in perfect.. imperfect cupcakes just mean more icing.. and when its creamchese icing its all win win! mostly I just make a vanilla cake base to the cupcake,a dn then expiriment with various toppings... lastest house favourite has been nutella cupcakes... where you just top the cakes with nutella.. or mix the nutella with a bit of cream too make it smoother... dh and ds are nutella obsessed...
