You could try cooking a chicken breast in a slow cooker in some stock for many hours, it comes out really soft - and / or puree it with a handheld blender (needs to be a strong one to cope with meat though). Having said that, my ds wouldn't eat any solid meat for ages and then suddenly picked up and gnawed on some grilled pork quite happily - sometimes they are just not ready to try that particular thing yet.

Cut it into strips then marinate it in buttermilk or natural yogurt with a teaspon of honey mixed in. Then cook it quite quickly to keep it moist.

I cook lightly in olive oil then put milk in the pan .
Or add tomatoes !

scootergrrl - that sounds lovely. will give that a go.

Systems - that gives me hope. my eldest chomps on anything but this one would happily live exclusively on raspberries and brown bread if I let her. She just wont eat any protien.

I find chicken thighs go 'softer' in a casserole than breast does- maybe its the different constitution/fat content? Go all melty and lovely

Cook in a liquid, as that will stop it being so dry. Other option is to puree (?) it in teh blender and make into nuggets etc. One of the anabel karmel recipes has that, so much be ok nutritionally

soup

but agree with suzywong

She might just hate chewing - lots of toddlers do, it's quite common. Try fish.

MrsBadger · 11/02/2008 14:09

mince it and make nuggets

Marinade in natural yoghurt for 24 hours

Poach gently

Wrap in clingfilm when still warm

Comes out like butter
