This is a long shot but....

I would like to break some into bits to give to ds (who is currently weaning) as part of 'spag bol' that I have made for him. But I have it sitting in a pasta jar and I chucked away the packet when I bought it... just a thought... if anyone out there still has theirs in the packet I would like to know if it contains egg. (we have a family history of egg allergy.)

Thank you in desperation!

I think so for the bizarre reason that I know an autistic child who loves drawing the packaging from memory and his version always contains the word 'uovo' (Italian for eggs).

Blimey moondog... I'd say that's probably a pretty reliable source. Hopefully someone will have a pack in their cupboard and that will save me from going to Tesco's just to read an ingredients label!!

Just nipped down to check ours and the standard de Cecco pasta (cellophane wrapped with blue and yellow label) is durum wheat pasta with no egg in it
Can't vouch for any of their more esoteric lines but this is the stuff sold in Waitrose etc

ok. was resisting going down 2 floors to kitchen to look for you but my conscience got the better of me....
have looked at packet of de cecco spag. ingredients on back in 500 languages. english version: durum wheat semolina.
that's it. no eggs listed.
hth!
