Question for all the SLOW COOKER DEVOTEES!

I have bought a lovely chicken (free range of course) which I quite fancy jointing and chucking in the slow cooker. Does anyone have any tips on what to put in with it? Also do I need to take the skin off?

TIA

I have taken the skin off my chicken portions today but that is my preference.

Tin of canellini beans, tin chopped toms, chopped pancetta, big glass white wine, rosemary finely chopped, chopped spring onions, tsp celery salt, tsp sugar.

Fantastic!! I actually have all those things in the cupboard!

Kind of just wondered if the skin went a bit slimy if you left it on... never done chicken portions in it before

Thanks so much Bellavita that sounds delicious!

Will be serving mine with some basmati rice tonight.

I like to brown off my chicken first (keeping the skin on), then I put it in slow cooker with various veg like mushrooms, sweet potato, leeks, broccoli & I either make up a jug of casserole mix or use a couple of stockcubes and bung that in, together with a couple of bayleaves and a bouquet garni.

Turns out just fine delicious

I usually serve mine with jacket potatoes on the side.
