Is ricotta pasteurised?

Just trying to find out for a colleague cooking dinner for a pregnant vegetarian friend!

Will it be cooked anyway? If so, then it doesn't matter. All cheese is safe if cooked.

Ricotta is made from pasteurised milk and it is also usually given a second heat treatment of up to 90degs and is hot filled into it's final container (so no risk of Listeria).

It is perfectly safe for a pregnant woman.

generally, when you have to use ricotta cheese for a meal, you add it at the very end, coz it doesn't need to be cooked.
