Come and help me think of things to make on Valentines for a children's romantic tea!

Lottie has 2 friends coming over for tea on Valentines Day, 2 boys, aged 5.

I thought it would be fun (mainly for me!) to make it a Valentines themed meal.

Thought they could have strawberry smoothies or milkshake to drink, sprinkle the table with red hearts, maybe buy some heart shaped sweets for later.

Any other ideas?

How do you make shepherd's pie, or chicken nuggets romantic?

What about chivalry/courtesy instead of romance as the theme? They are only little kids, don't make me call social services.

Errrr ok.

I just thought I could make my own heart shaped pizzas?????

You could have a hearts theme sounds like fun!

Heart shaped pizzas would be nice. Or you could make heart-shaped french toast (eggy bread). If you wanted to do shepherds pie, could you sprinkle red leicester cheese in a heart shape over the top?

Social services suzywong?

you could make them out of a scone mixture rather than yeast dough which can be unpredicatble form-wise if you try making shapes with it.

is that more sensible an answer"?

very clever idea to sprinkle cheese in a heart shape, I like it.

Yes it's very cruel of me to have a silly theme running through the meal on valentines day. I'd have locked away forever on Halloween then, i bought spooky cakes and at Xmas, oh noooo, I bought Xmas tree shaped cakes and snowflake cookies. oh shoot me now!

2 boys

Hadn't you better invite another little person to even things up?

2 boyfriends is just spoiled!!!

Jammie Dodgers have hearts on.

Lakeland are selling heart shaped bakewear. I was thinking about making some heart shaped cakes or jellies for DS1's birthday (Valentine's Day) as he keeps telling everyone he's "born on the day of love".

LOL! All her main friends are boys. They think she's great cos she's so cheeky.

Think I'll try the heart shaped pizza's unless I think of anything else. Bound to be able to buy some sort of Valentines cake thing from M&S or Waitrose and serve with strawberries. I found heart shaped marshmallows and little heart chocolates in M&S and will sprinkle hearts on the table or something.
