Gina Ford's weaning recipies

I followed her weaning book for DD which I found good. The bit I find confusing is that her recipies state 'do not freeze' IE creamy pasta, ive looked in the annebel book and her pasta is suitable for freezing. Does anyone know why Gina says that most things cant be frozen when I think they can. Unsure whether to just ignore that statement and freeze them.

Thanks

i ahev found pasta fine to freeze but not rice

You can freeze both pasta and rice - but it depends what else is in the recipe. Maybe if there's lots of cream in the pasta sauce it would go a bit funny if frozen. Pasta with sauces that are tomato based definitely freeze fine - lots of spag bol in our freezer for dd!

Think you could freeze long grain rice but perhaps not risotto as it has a different texture.

I freeze risotto and it works fine.

I always find risotto tricky because if you make it with arborio rice it is delicious when eaten fresh, but goes all sticky and glutenous if reheated. Could just be my excuse for eating the whole lot in one go! And frankly your average babe is probably not going to object to a slightly oddly textured risotto - it's just I wouldn't serve it to adults reheated!
