Silly frozen mince question ...

OK - I blame my pregnancy brain for this ... but I defrosted mince and have cooked it up with potatoes to make croquet-ey type things ... can I freeze these now or is that a big TABOO?

yes you can!

You can re-freeze - I wasn't sure either and lots of MNers said you could so have done so lots of times since asking.

love you guys!!

I have just made a truck load of the croquet-ey things and was loathe to chuck them..

you see the rule is that you can't re-freeze anything.

But you have cooked the mince, and therefore changed what it is.

It was raw meat and it is now cooked meat, so you are not re-freezing anything, you are freezing for the first time some cooked meat.

This rule applies to everyone except people who support football teams that play in claret and blue for some unknown reason - the claret reacts badly with the mince or something. If this should be the case (and I'm sure it isn't ) then you should call the mince police immediately and get them to dispose of the mince for you before it takes over your house

Oh god i need glasses, i just read the title as 'Silly frozen mice question'

fryalot · 24/01/2008 16:00

I'm sure that the raw/cooked rule would apply equally to mice

TheMaskedPoster · 24/01/2008 16:02

snort!

mightysquonk ... all I can say is that the opposing team to the claret and blues on Sunday were incredibly fortuatous and must have bunged the linesman a hefty wad to keep his flag down at a certain moment of the game

your point, TMP?

TheMaskedPoster · 24/01/2008 16:17

hmmm, no. No point squonk .. just pointless, aimless ramblings (ie - the usual!)

I didn't even bother to watch it on motd, the previous match was so mind numbingly boring - so all I knew was the result.
