Treacle / Syrup

I have a gingerbread muffin recipe here that calls for 3 tablespoons of "black treacle or light molasses". Will golden syrup do instead do you think?

I think it will be fine asthe consistency is right.It willjust give a lighter taste to it. It won't taste quite so rich.
