Tuna Pasta Bake

Can anyone help me with a recipe for this for my ds (nearly 11)

Is it onion, tuna, pasta and cheese sauce, or is there anything else to go in?

I put mushrooms in and sometimes sweetcorn and top off with grated cheese & breadcrumbs mixed up.

I used to make one from a Schwartz packet mix (don't recommend it though - pink and artificial-tasting) which suggested a smashed-crisp-and-grated-cheese topping before grilling - we put that on all our pasta bake things now. (You can use different flavour crisps - salt and vinegar are good with tuna!)

What you've said sounds fine. I do a beef one with just onion, green pepper, mince and passata - you could stick a few peas in maybe (like fish pie)?

Thanks girls,

As its for ds, I'll put sweetcorn and peas in, don't have any mushrooms today.

Off to cook it now

I used to use a jar of sauce or campbells condensed soup

AuntyQuated · 26/11/2004 17:07

cut and pasted from campbells soup website

  • 200g (7oz) pasta
  • 295g can Campbell's Condensed Cream of Mushroom or Cream of Sweetcorn Soup
  • 200ml (7 fl.oz) milk
  • 6 spring onions, trimmed
  • 198g can tuna, drained
  • 200g sweetcorn, drained (optional)
  • 100g (3 1/2oz) cheddar cheese, grated

Method

1 . Cook pasta as pack instructs untill just tender. Drain.

2 . Stir in soup, milk, onions and tuna (and sweetcorn, if using) and heat through, stirring.

3 . Transfer to 1.2lt (2pt) flame-proof dish, top with cheese and grill until golden.

Serve with salad.

PREPARATION 5 minutes
COOKING TIME 10 minutes
SERVES 4 people
