I am still bf and while DS will take the very occasional sip from a glass (the only thing he will drink from - after trying every cup/beaker on the market) he doesn't seem to want anything but bm from me.
He has point blank refuses bottles too.

How can I get him to drink more??

I do give him a cup in the bath - but he thinks its a toy

i try him with an open cup all day but he just shakes his head.

may try a straw, hadn't thought of that - thanks

I'm in the same boat although never tried bottles. Are you trying to stop BFing or worried about fluid intake. He will be getting enough from you and food. There seems to be a bit of an obsession with giving babies loads of water. I'm sure we weren't given loads of water as babies/toddlers and we all survived!

The 2 litres of water myth for adults is probably responsible - the research was done in the 50s and basically all that 2 litres an adult can get from water in food thats the bit of the same research that didn't get passed on. As long as your son isn't constipated and you don't want to wean I wouldn't worry.

No I don't want to stop bf altogether but would like him to use a cup when we are out and about.

We are thinking of ttc and as yet my periods haven't returned so I'm thinking maybe by cutting down bf they may reappear.
