NO!

get a grip woman - tis not a kerfuffle

the roux is what makes it - you can do an all in one method

makes loads so you can freeze it

how funny! I thought I should have called myself batteryhen instead.

I have not posted much but I wanted you to give me credit in the future for my fab cheese sauce recipe. pity dd has now been diagnosed with allergy to egg and cow's milk.

lulumama · 16/01/2008 20:50

oh poor dd

is the recipe that simple? reall?

OP posts:
RubySlippers · 16/01/2008 20:54

all in one - is butter, flour and milk all together

whisk like mad over heat

et voila!

discoverlife · 16/01/2008 20:56

The cream one is also fantastic for peppercorn sauce, parsley sauce etc. really most sauces that need a white sauce base.

batterymum · 16/01/2008 20:58

yes it is. i made it that way one day in desperation because she was v. hungry and going into meltdown.

dd also had cheesy pasta at the New Angel in Dartmouth and I am sure that was what they did.

BecauseImWorthIt · 16/01/2008 21:00

Or - melted Philadelphia (or equivalent) with grated cheese added?

lulumama · 16/01/2008 21:19

thank you all

you have made an old lady very happy
