What is this fruit that I have purchased?

Whilst in tesco this morning, ds picked up a fruit and threw it around the shop for a bit so I felt twas only fair that I bought it (74p)

It's yellow and a bit bigger than a tennis ball.

Is it a grapefruit? And if so, does grapefruit taste like grapefruit juice (because I don't like grapefruit juice)

Sorry to appear dumb, but my mum wasn't really a great one for fruit when we were kids and I only really buy stuff that I know

Can't believe I started looking at the tesco website grocery page to try and "spot the fruit". Felt a bit like Mrs Marple.

I would like to thank all the wonderful mumsnetters, without who, the presentation of this grapfruit (yellow) would not be possible. They helped me through times of indecision, steeled my nerve against lack of confidence in fruit choices and above all, they taught me that five a day IS the way forward. Together we laughed, we sang and we googled, we searched the tesco groceries home page and we hunted through handbags for receipts. Girls, we did it every step of the way, and I salute you Ladies of the Grapefruit! Now I would like to present the slightly bruised, although not showing it, gfruit - yellow to my beloved DP (pause for applause)

ive had elephants feet and funny figs, witches fingers,spiky balls wonder what exciting thing this week.

he was, actually, over the moon with his present. I confessed that I felt obliged to buy it after ds pretended it was a football in front of half the staff and he didn't appear to mind.

He said "oh, I love grapefruit, I'll save it and have it at weekend " so twas good.
