All veg - 15 mins or so
Chicken breasts 30 mins
Fish - 15 ish

I have a quick and easy recipe for chocolate & toffee puds if you want it? Or were you after healthy options?

TMH Hi thanks, do you just put the chicken or fish straight in or do you wrap them in foil first?
silverfrog dp & dc's will love it, unfortunately i can't eat any wheat or dairy, might be able to convert it though.

I just bung them in the chicken can be a bit pale, but you can add spices etc

Timing will depend on the steamer and how densely the food is packed.

Are we talking electric steamer (if so which one) or one that goes on cooker?

Basket that goes into a saucepan.

I'm about to start working on a conversion for dd1 as she's gluten/dairy free too.

It's really simple:

50g butter
50g brown sugar
75g self raising flour
tsp baking powder
1 egg
3 tbsp milk
1tbsp cocoa
75g mars bar (I tend to use any old caramel choc)

mix up the butter, sugar, egg, flour, baking powder, cocoa and milk and whisk to form a batter. stir in the chopped up chocolate.

grease 4 ramekins and spoon in the mixture (no more than half - two thirds full)

cover ramekins with foil and steam for 30-40 mins.

Has never failed me, and everyone is always dead impressed!

Hi everyone, am new to this site...I have a steamer that i was bought about 3 years ago, for some reason i have never used it and forgot all about it! I've now taken it out the box at last and would like to start using it, especially as i've heard that its so much healthier and i am dieting! (wink)

The problem is, i cant find the instruction booklet that went with it! I havent a clue how long i would cook anything in there for?? Does anyone have any ideas please?chicken? Veg? Any other ideas would be greatly appreciated?? I wouldnt have a clue what i can cook in there or how long for!

Its a two tier stackable one, i beleive it was from tescos so its not a named brand or anything...Thank you x x
