Christmas meal that isn't Christmassy

Some relatives are coming for a post Christmas, Christmassy meal. There will be presents swapped etc. Now I figure everyone is sick of roast meat and potatoes. Any suggestions as to what I could serve? Casserole? Tapas? Lots of children will be present. I want it to be special, wintry but not a traditional Sunday lunch.

What about salmon en croute? Or a fish pie? Both can be prepared ahead and heated up so you can relax once your guests arrive. Or a casserole for same reason. Tapas lovely, but I would have thought a lot more work for you.

Salmon en croute sounds nice but I don't know how to make it.

It is DEAD simple and lots of variations. Will see if I can find a recipe on the net for you rather than try to dig out my recipe... back in a sec.

Blimey, there are tons of recipes on the net. Just do a search (then you can easily dicount those you don't like the sound of or which have ingredients you don't like) Also search on "salmon koulibiac", which is basically salmon en croute but with a rice layer.
