I've just made these but am now stuck as to how to get them out without falling apart. Is it better to wait until completely cold as they are still warm and seem a bit flaky !

Yes wait until cold. Score them into bits now though

top tip is put a big tablespoon of condensed milk in to the mixture in place of one tablespoon of syrup

and always line the pan

Dh cooked flapjacks for us after work last night! They were lovely too. I have started calling him my domestic goddess

Well, sadly I have to report they were a disaster. Despite waiitng till cold and careful manoeuvres of the fish slice they just disintegrated into a heap of flavoured oats. The whole mix seemed too dry from the beginning. Those few nuggets that did hold together tasted good though. Never mind - looks like it is dip and tortilla chips for Book Club tonight instead !

I had a look at the recipe and I think honey has a too high sugar content (although I know there is no sugar in honey for the pedants out there) if you see what I mean.
