About those cookies! Yummy as the fragments are, I just can't get them off my baking sheets! I greased them very well and they are usually fine but the middle bits of each cookie just won't come off the baking sheet. I have a horrid feeling there will be 15 lots of crumps and glorious chocolate mush and that is so easy to eat up beofre dh gets home! Any ideas what I did wrong? The mixture didn't seem to runny or too stiff. You thoughts would be appreciated as I saw that others had this problem too. chocolatey

Never had a problem like that with mine... I use a metal palate knife (very carefully!) to remove them from my Tescos's non-stick baking sheets. I don't tend to wait for them to cool much.

Sorry!

(but they are delicious!)

They are still quite gooey in the middle and crispy round the edges. Is that right?

Non-stick baking parchment!

Large roll of brown paper from Tesco or Sainsbos (prob. other places too) - I find loads of things stick after a while (poor battered baking sheets I have) but the parchment stops it. (Tends to make them slightly soggy underneath but at least you don't waste any.)

I'm going to have to eat the whole bally lot now!

Thanks Jan. The baking sheets are brand new!

Mine have always been soft in the middle rather than gooey.

SoupDragon · 22/11/2004 17:45

I'm going to have to make them again and make notes on what I actually do.

Such hardship Soupy!

I'll be baking these tomorrow so will let you know how we get on!

Mine have never spread too much either (much to my surprise).
