Urgent Urgent slow cooker question

AussieSim · 09/01/2008 02:45

I only used my slow cooker once and they put it away - that was quite a while ago. Now my DH has given me a recipe that I am working on today and I have forgotten how much water to put in the slow cooker doover. It is a 6 litre cooker - any ideas?

Thanks in Advance, Sim

You put water in the slow cooker? How odd.

Sorry, I realise that was unhelpful - can you google it?

You don't need as much liquid in a slow cooker as you do when cooking in the oven/stove, because it doesn't evaporate. Are you using a convention method recipe? Try using about half the amount the recipe states. If not using a recipe, try just a cup or two - you can always add more (boiling) water later if you think it needs it.

Must be the pre-nappy-brain, but I had this idea that between the pot and the cooker was water - your posts made me question this assumption thank god and no harm was done. Just one of the many doozies I can attribute to DC3
