Have decided my Panasonic is crap. I have tried everything to get decent bread but it doesn't work and as much as I love to make bread by hand, I don't really have time anymore.

So what does MN recommend?

I love my Panasonic and this is the first time I have heard a complaint about it.

What's wrong with the loaves?

You don't have the machine on top of a work surface with a washing machine or tumble dryer underneath do you? I found the vibrations stopped the loaves rising properly.

love my panasonic too, even DH can't mess it up

I love mine, but got it fo Christmas, so early days. What don't you like? I have to say my loaves seem to lack a homemade feel to them. Not put my finger on why; probably because they're too good?

Blardy hell! I've just been down to the cellar (which is where I banished the breadmaker to) to check what model it is and it isn't a Panasonic at all. It's Morphy Richards!

here Quite pricey, but they do a cheaper model without the raisin/nut dispenser.

Ours is a Panasonic SD-252. Haven't had a dud loaf yet.
Also made great hot cross buns, ciabatta, pizza dough...

Oh, and we've had ours for a year.

Well that was fairly unanimous!

Comet have got the SD255 for £89.99 at the moment so I'll probably try that one.
