how do i whip cream?

im making a sponge cake and have bought whipping cream to stick in the middle. its runny so i assume i need to whip it myself. do i do it using my electric whisk thing? sorry but have only just started this baking malarky and am bloody clueless

yes, use whisk. Takes quite a while but becomes really thick all of a sudden

stick in electric whisky for couple of mins
