slow cookers, how much liquid?

Eg, recipe asks for 3 tins toms and 1/2 cup red wine. Do you halve it, or how much less do you put in?

I have cooked spag bol in slow cooker to two pounds of mince i only put one tin of toms and my secret ingriedient a couple of tbls of milk yes I know it sounds horrible but trust me it makes all the difference also a couple of squirts of tom ketch.Cook for six hours on low
