There have been many threads on menu planning and I for one will be giving it a go in the New Year. But what do you never run out of to prepare meals other then the main meal?

Milk
eggs
butter
rice
noodles
pasta
passta/tinned tomatoes
frozen peas
frozen sweetcorn

what else? I want a fool proof kitchen

Fridge/freezer:
Lardons or pancetta
Parmesan
Creme fraiche
Cheese
Frozen prawns
Frozen peas
Jar of chopped ginger
Curry paste

Store cupboard:
Noodles, pasta of various types
Risotto rice
Basmati rice
Garlic
Chillies
Coconut milk
Tinned tomatoes
Tinned tuna
Eggs
Sesame oil
Olive oil
Balsamic vinegar
Fish sauce
Sherry
Soy sauce
Couscous

Onions

Mushrooms
Peppers
Tinned Tomatoes
Baked Beans
Sausages (usually frozen - and cook from frozenable.......useful if I've forgotten to take the meat out the freezer LOL)
Carrots
Green Beans/Broccoli
Cheese
Herbs - got loads and keep them all well stocked

And less "cooking" but still always stocked up

Fresh chilli (like birdseye) and dried chilli

Chicken stock powder
Sugar (white, brown, caster etc)
Soy Sauce (dark and light)
Oyster Sauce

Worcestershire sauce
Balsamic and other vinegars
Ketchup
Sweet Chilli Sauce
Mayonnaise
Tabasco
Mustard
Sesame Oil
Coconut milk
Dried shrimps, shrimp paste
Salted soy beans
