Prepared them on the 23rd cooked them on the 24th they were lovely and looked rather impressive if I do say so myself.

Did proper gravy this year too, I made way too much effort (and food)

Was that the mince pies that he did on tv the other day where you make a roll of pastry with the mince and then cut it up and put inside sheets of filo which you push into the cake baking tray? They looked lovely.

Yes thats the ones, I didn't roll the puff pasrty for the swirls quite thin enough so it did't cook as well as it could have and I used 3 sheets of filo, 1 sheet or 2 at the most would be enough. Looked really goos though, I took one into work to have with my lunch today and it was much admired.

Oh, I made 24 of them took them round to cousins house xmas eve, left there 1am, when I came back next day for xmas luch they were all gone. couldn't believe it didn't even eat one. Gonna make some more though cos everyone said they were yum.
