Urgent help needed with Nigella's ginger glazed ham!!!!!

Does it really need 7 litres of ginger ale???? That's 7 wine bottle's worth isn't it. The ham I've got is half the size so do I half the ale (still seems a lot) and cooking time???????

I'm not sure it needs all seven litres - it depends on the size of your ham and your pot. Nigella's ham in coke recipe www.nigella.com/recipes/recipe.asp?article=149 uses a smaller ham, less liquid and a shorter cooking time. It also has a tip about poaching the meat on one day and roasting the next.
I'm going to cook mine tomorrow night and I'm going to use enough liquid to cover the ham. I shall roast it on Christmas day and hope for the best!
