i was out at a party recently and we were served drinks of cava with ginger syrup. it was delicious and very christmassy and i want to have the same on tuesday.

but i can't for the life of me figure out what the ginger syrup is or where to buy it!

i looked in the alcohol section, by the straws, jarred lemon etc and in the bakery/confectionary section of the supermarket but no joy.

any ideas??

Is it the syrup you get in jars of stem ginger in syrup (sounds utterly blissful)?

see that's the problem, i don't know! it was liquid not solid bits of ginger so maybe you are right...

it was so yummy tho and i'm not normally a drinker!

The syrup's the liquid, though, in those jars. Why don't you get some and try it? You can't go frightfully wrong, can you. If one glass is nasty (unlikely) just drink the cava neat.

sounds like a plan, i will call dh who is in town and see what kind of mad concoction he comes back with...

failing that i cld try making some, i googled and it seems very easy, even for me.
