Does homemade stuffing have to have egg in it?

Well does it and what would happen if I made it and didn't put it in? Would it sort of not cohere, go all dry as it cooked, fall appart and end up looking like a load of sawdust?

I intend to use it to stuff the turkey rather than cook it separately but am going all out to impress so don't want a balls up.

Help...!

sorry don't want to be rude. but what the heck recipe are you using that needs egg to hold it together inside a turkey?
it is bread and herbs mainly, just add more water to stick it.

No egg in mine when I make it myself. Just boiled onions, breadcrumbs and sage, and some of the onion boiling water.
