Anyone heard of them, if so where would I get them from???

Yes, I think they're smoked jalapenos. They're great in small doses - hot but smoky sweet at the same time. You can buy them dried from specialist delis - you can reconstitute them in hot water and them add to soups, stews, chillis etc. A restaurant near us used to do a great butternut squash and chipotle soup, and it's a really good combination.

If you live near Glasgow or Edinburgh you can buy them dried by weight (so you can just get a couple to try them) at the two branches of Lupe Pintos Deli , which specialise in Mexican/American/Spanish ingredients.
