very basic but ...

  • fry off meat
  • add chopped onion
  • add curry powder and extra paprika, dash of chilli powder, big dollop tom puree, black pepper, lots of garlic, splash hot water
  • simmer for ages, add cream/yoghurt near end

I do a fab lamb one in the slow cooker but you could just cook it on the hob.

Fry onion, add chopped meat of your choice, add a large tin of chopped tomatoes and a quarter-half a jar of pataks curry paste tikka masala flavour. Half hour before the end put in a small pot (175ml) of double cream

Is there an alternative to curry powder do you know, as not sure if it contains unneccessary salt??

turkEgyptlets · 18/12/2007 13:03

thanks. furball, i do that pataks one q a bit, it is yummy. also have a slow cooker, which is great with busy family. but assumed jars would have too much salt for my little-'un.

chubby, yours sounds easy. i could do that!

Nothing I cook is difficult, for good reason!

It's good cos you can just make it as hot or creamy as you like, but proper curry connoiseurs will be outraged by it.

No idea about the salt thing, need to check the tub methinks.
