1/2 loaf of whollemeal bread, unsliced
2 onions,chopped
Fresh sage leaves or half a jar of dried sage
Veg or chicken stock
Salt and pepper
Sweat off the onions (I do this in the microwave in a bit of stock
Break up the loaf of bread and mix in the onions and sage
Pour over stock to soak bread and cover
Set aside until bread has absorbed stock then bake in the oven. It will go golden and crunchy.
