and have you any tips for cooking in them, inherited one in my new house and its a bloomin pain at the mo, one side of oven hotter, cakes take longer at lower temps.
meringues were yuck from it.

so all tips please

Have one, but don't use it much for cooking in. It heats kitchen and the bedroom directly above, and provides hot water in winter, but we have a normal gas cooker which we use to cook on. We use ours as a sort of 'slow cooker' for soups and stews and that sort of thing. It takes so much fuel (ours is solid fuel) to get it hot enough to cook anything else that it's not worth the effort really. Sorry to be no help.
